City Crafter Challenge Blog Week #58 *I've Been Framed*

Hi all! It is Cheryl back as hostess this week and I have some alarming news..."I've Been Framed"! Never fear...I've been framed in a good way and I hope you'll get framed this week, too, as you participate in our challenge. The challenge this week is simple...either alter an existing frame or use a frame somewhere in your project! Can't wait to see what you all come up with!!!

~ Cheryl Nelson

Guest Designer
I am happy to introduce you to our Guest Designer this week - Colleen Dietrich!!!

Here's a little about Colleen in her own words: When I was little, I loved making cards for my parents out of construction paper, stickers and crayons. In my early twenties, I bought a few stamps and ink pad and began making super-simple cards to sell at work. After that, other hobbies consumed me and stamping fell by the wayside. In October 2007, I dove head-first into the world of stamping and card-making once again, and on a bigger scale. I thought I might save money by making my own cards. Ha! At least this hobby is cheaper than therapy, and much more fun. J
My style varies from clean and simple to vintage, and somewhere in between. I am currently the Private Blend Designer for The Play Date Cafe Design Team. I also design for Mark's Finest Paper challenge blog. Being challenged each week - and blogging about it - has helped me grow significantly as an artist. I am so in love with this hobby, I can't even imagine another one taking its place!

I live with my parents and family in Singapore, a beautiful island in Sounh-East Aisa where we have year-round summer. From my lovely mother, I inherited a love for handmade things, and starting at a young age I learned painting, sewing, and many other crafts. Even now as I venture further into music education and my higher studies, I do my best to create time for my favorite hobby - cardmaking. Besides creating handmade cards, I also do graphic designing, and love to create blog banners (like this one for City Crafter Challenge Blog). Visit me at my Sunshine blog, or in my Handmade shop.... I'd love to have you there!

Love all types of styles including vintage, shabby chic, cutesy, elegant, grunge, you name it. We have a fabulous sponsor this week. Shannon Sentiments has very generously sponsored all the images used by our GD and DT for their sample work this week, and also offered a $10 gift certificate to our winner. Here's a little about Shannon Sentiments

Shannon's Sentiments digital images range from the simple sentiment to more elaborate large line images... from cute and simple to bold tattoo images. There is truly something for every stamper and everyone on their card giving list. Shannon started her digital images store after realizing she was always looking for that perfect sentiment for the card front, or a quirky saying for inside... and never having something that was just right. With the support of her husband and help from a few artistic friends, Shannon's Sentiments was born. Come stop in and see what we have that will be just right for your next creation.

Guest Designer
I am happy to introduce you to our Guest Designer this week - Davi Reid

Here's a little about Davi in her own words: I have very talented parents who were always creating as I grew up. I sewed, embroidered, drew, crocheted and painted from time I was a young child. I love creating and as an adult I have tried about every craft there is but mainly did sewing, woodworking, pottery and painting. I also do all types of cakes from birthday to wedding. Due to some life changes I hadn't done much traveling for a while. I live in a very rural area with no craft stores so not much exposure to the newest in crafts. I did have some rubber stamps and used them for some simple cards, stamping on fabric etc. A couple years ago I met a lady on line who told e about blogging and all the challenges. I was totally wowed by what I saw. I had never seen all the edge punches, Spellbinders and other products out there. With her help I started my blog in the fall of 2009 and was instantly hooked. Challenges are so much fun and a great way to get you to think outside the box! I do LOVE flowers and they are my most favorite embellie to make so you see lots of the on my cards. I have met so many wonderful ladies that have encouraged me along the way and I hope to be an encouragement to others. Its pretty amazing and totally fun when you think how blogging brings ladies from all walks of life across the world together!
